On October 28th, the Da Nang Department of Tourism announced a planned implementation program to resume Da Nang tourism activities in a new normal state after a long suspension due to COVID-19.

At the event, Vice Chairman of Da Nang People's Committee Tran Phuoc Son emphasized: Considering that resuming and promoting tourism are key tasks to helping Da Nang revive economic activities, the central city will focus on directing epidemic prevention and control work as well as mobilising resources to support the tourism industry to effectively implement a plan for tourism recovery in a new normal.

Accordingly, the City will focus on resuming tourism activities in the new situation under the motto "Proactive - adaptive - flexible to effectively restore tourism and ensure the safety of tourists, tourism workers, and the community”.

The Department of Tourism instructed service establishments to ensure their operating conditions are guided by  Resolution No. 128/NQ-CP dated October 11th, 2021, promulgating the temporary regulation "Adapting safely, flexibly, and effectively to control COVID-19" in cultural, sport, and tourism activities.

Da Nang will organize the domestic reception of tourists in two phases: restart tourism activities and services in the City from October and provide services for interregional tourists from November.

For international visitors, the City will implement the following programs, with approval of the Government and relevant ministries, in 3 phases: In Phase 1, the city will receive foreign visitors through packaged tours, charter flights, and regular commercial flights on a trial basis from November; Phase 2 expands the scope of international tourists by connecting destinations through charter flights and regularly scheduled international flights from January 2022; and in Phase 3, the city fully reopens to international tourists.

The program is an extraordinary milestone marking the return of Da Nang's tourism industry. Hopefully with the City's determination in opening up tourism, resuming economic development, and implementing strict solutions in the prevention of COVID-19, Da Nang will attract more domestic and foreign tourists.
