Da Nang begins vaccinating children over 12 against COVID-19

On October 30th, Da Nang People’s Committee issued Plan No. 188/KH-UBND on providing COVID-19 vaccines to children over 12.

Accordingly, all eligible children over 12 residing in Da Nang, including foreigners and overseas Vietnamese, will be offered a COVID-19 vaccine. The vaccination program is planned to take place from November to December with older children receiving the vaccine before younger age groups.

According to the Plan, the Department of Education and Training (DET) is responsible for registering students from grade 6 to grade 12 at educational institutions under its management and the Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (DOLISA) is responsible for registering children over 12 studying at vocational schools or being cared for at centres under its management. District People’s Committees are responsible for registering children over 12 residing in their areas that are not subject to DET or DOLISA’s management.

The Department of Foreign Affairs is assigned to collaborate with DET, DOLISA and District People’s Committees to receive vaccination registrations from foreigners over 12 currently residing in the City.
