Establishing Checkpoints for COVID-19 Prevention in Da Nang

On 29 May 2021, Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee Le Trung Chinh signed Decision No.78/QD-BCD on establishment of checkpoints at the city’s entrances.

Accordingly, the city has established the following checkpoints:

1. Ta Quang Buu Street, Lien Chieu District;

2. Hoang Van Thai Street (near Khanh Son Landfill), Lien Chieu District;

3. Extended Nguyen Tat Thanh Street – approach road to Hai Van Tunnel, Hoa Vang District;

4. National Road 14B (near Hoa Nhon Traffic Police Station), Hoa Vang District;

5. National Road 1A (near Hoa Phuoc Traffic Police Station), Hoa Vang District;

6. National Road 14B (near Goat Meat Restaurant 98), Hoa Vang District;

7. Road 14G (Than Tai Mountain foot), Hoa Vang District;

8. Provincial Road 605 (near Bo Bo Mountain), Hoa Vang District;

9. Cocobay, Truong Sa Street, Ngu Hanh Son District;

10. End of Tran Dai Nghia Street, Ngu Hanh Son District;

11. Da Nang Railway Station, Thanh Khe District;

12. Central Coach Station, Cam Le District;

13. Da Nang Seaport, Son Tra District;

14. Tho Quang Fishing Port, Son Tra District;

15. Domestic Terminal – Da Nang International Airport, Hai Chau District.

For checkpoints 1 to 12, important medical measures such as temperature check, health declaration, and epidemiological investigation will be required for people and vehicles entering the city through these checkpoints. Based on different situations, medical intervention measures will be decided on as follows:

  • People and rudimentary vehicles and motorbikes coming from pandemic affected areas will be requested to return to where they came from, or will be quarantined as regulated.
  • People and passenger transport vehicles/goods transport vehicles coming from pandemic affected areas passing Da Nang will be requested to make health declaration and commit themselves not to stop or park anywhere during their journey.
  • People and goods transport vehicles coming from pandemic affected areas entering Da Nang will be requested to make health declaration and will be quarantined as regulated. Those who only deliver goods and then come back to where they came from will be requested to commit themselves not to stay in the city for more than 24 hours.
  • People and passenger transport vehicles coming from pandemic affected areas entering Da Nang will be requested to make health declaration and will be quarantined as regulated.
  • Others will be allowed to enter the city normally.

At the other checkpoints, relevant agencies will implement monitoring of people and vehicles as well as COVID-19 prevention measures as regulated.

The checkpoints will operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with the duration directed by Chairman of the City People’s Committee.
