From 26th April to 29th April 2018, Singapore Navy Ship RSS INTREPID made a port call to Da Nang city. The ship visit, which occured about the same time as PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc’ official visit to Singapore, helps to indicate the Strategic Partnership established in 2013 between the two countries growing in depth in various areas. This is also an opportunity to promote Da Nang city to the people of Singapore, paving ways to strengthening the friendship and cooperation between Da Nang and Singapore.
In the scope of RSS INTREPID's visit, the Deputy Director of Singapore Armed Forces Training Institute, Senior Lieuntenant Colonel Joseph Neo, paid a courtesy call on the Vice Chairman of Da Nang People's Committee, Mr. Ho Ky Minh. The two navies conducted joint maritime search and rescue exercise. The exchange and training between the two navies contribute to the promotion of bilateral defense cooperation, bringing practical benefits to each country and at the same time contributing to solidarity in ASEAN and the area on security, safety and freedom of navigation.
