The European Commission Supports the Solar Energy Development Project in Da Nang
From July 2017 to April 2020, with the support of the European Commission (EC), the Centre for Energy Saving and Technology Transfer Consultancy of the Da Nang Department of Science and Technology has received and carried out the Solar Energy Development Project in Da Nang.
The project has a total funding of 393,000 EUR (equivalent to 9,420,210,000 VND) and a counter-part funding of 73,377 EUR (equivalent to 1,758,846,690 VND) has been implemented to increase access to clean solar resources in Central Viet Nam. The project consists of three main components (1) Supporting the development of solar energy policies and regulations, promoting solar energy-related services to final consumers and encouraging research into solar energy; (2) Investment support for the pilot installation of solar power systems in some locations such as local health centres, schools and some households without electricity; (3) Capacity building and exchange, dissemination of knowledge on solar energy to governmental agencies, local authorities, energy managers, investors and related individuals through direct training, study tours, exhibitions, as well as the introduction of appropriate technologies, know-how, technical standards and application potential in Central Viet Nam./.
