Promoting Health and Tourism Cooperation with Mizunami City, Gifu Prefecture
On the afternoon of 17th October 2017, Mr. Ho Ky Minh, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee, had a meeting with the delegation from Mizunami City, Gifu Prefecture, Japan led by Mr. Mizuno Koji, Mayor of the city on the occasion of visiting and working in Da Nang, together with the attendance of related department leaders of the two cities.
At the meeting, Mr. Ho Ky Minh introduced the socio-economic achievements of Da Nang, the economic strengths of the city in terms of tourism, infrastructure development, information technology and high-tech parks. He also mentioned that in recent years, many businesses and localities from Japan such as Kawasaki, Yokohama, and Sakai have built cooperative relationships with the city in the field of investment and cultural exchange which has contributed to building the friendly relationship between Da Nang and other Japanese localities in particular, as well as between the two countries in general.
On behalf of the Japanese delegation, Mr. Mizuno Koji highly appreciated the warm welcome of the city leaders for his delegation's mission. He suggested that the two cities should focus on the common concerns based on similar strengths such as tourism and health in order to promote cooperation. In addition, he hoped that Da Nang City could have more favorable conditions for investors and businesses from Mizunami City to propose and implement suitable projects, especially the construction of a Japanese-style healthcare center for the aged which was proposed by the Senjukai Organization, Japan during the meeting.
The Senjukai Organization, a social welfare association of Mizunami City, has implemented a cooperative program with Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy in training and enhancing the capacity of nursing students. The program began in 2009 and many students have had the opportunity to work at the Senjukai Organization in Mizunami City, Japan.
