Promoting Viet Nam – Japan Cultural Exchange
From 12th to 14th February, the Representative Office of Da Nang in Japan (the Representative Office), the Da Nang Department of Foreign Affairs cooperated with the Sodateru Association (Japan) to successfully hold the exchange programme for 12 Japanese students in Da Nang.
The exchange programme began with the meeting with the Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs. Japanese students then visited the Da Nang Museum to discover about the history and development of Da Nang City; participated in volunteer activities such as playing with children who are orphaned or have disabilities at the Da Nang Women's and Children's Hospital; enjoyed outdoor activities, inclusive of cooking traditional dishes of the two countries and playing folk games; as well as visited Hoi An Ancient Town to learn about the trading history between Japan and Viet Nam in the past.
Since August 2012, the Representative Office has cooperated with the Sodateru Association under the support of the Japan Ministry of Education and Science to implement the project, titled International Youth Education and Exchange to strengthen the traditional friendship over the last 400 years as well as to develop the future relationship between Da Nang and Japan. The project aims to blossom and tighten the friendship between Japanese and Da Nang students. As of now, there have been 6 successful exchange programmes organised in Da Nang.
