Strengthening Cooperation with Japan in the Urban Planning Development
On 18th May 2017, Nikken Sekkei Ltd. Company, Japan led by its Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Asami Hideki, had a meeting with the Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee, Mr. Huynh Duc Tho, in order to discuss the possibility of participating in the urban planning projects in Da Nang City.
In the meeting, the Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee informed that Da Nang always aimed to study experiences in the urban management and development of Japanese localities where the city has established cooperative relations such as Yokohama City. The city also hoped to receive support from Japanese organisations and enterprises, including Nikken Sekkei Ltd. Company, in the field of urban space planning, infrastructure development, and especially in urban underground space and landscape planning. The content of underground space planning would be included in the Da Nang City Master Plan until 2030, with the vision to 2050, and the city also welcomed the company to contribute to the plan adjustment.
Highly appreciating the development of Da Nang City, Mr. Asami Hideki expressed his desire to support the city in urban planning. In addition, thanks to the expertise and partner network, the company could also become an intermediary to introduce investors from Japan to invest in Da Nang. The representatives of Nikken Sekkei Ltd. Company also expressed their willingness to cooperate with the city in the field of training and human resource exchange under the form of sending and receiving staff working in Da Nang and Japan to exchange experience.

In 2016, the Company participated in the International Landscape Design Competition for the Han River, Da Nang held by the Da Nang People's Committee, and achieved third place over 39 candidates.
