Chairman Huynh Duc Tho introduced the city's highlighted socio-economic achievements in recent years and its orientation for development in the future, with priority given to further development in transport infrastructure, especially seaports and railways systems, sewage treatment, marine environment protection, high-tech industry development, as well as synchronised development of other social sectors including culture, health and education.
Mr. Chairman also highly appreciated the contribution of Japanese enterprises in the socio-economic development of Da Nang, and committed to create the most favourable conditions through incentive policies for Japanese businesses.
The President and General Manager of Mitsubishi Corporation Viet Nam delightedly expressed his sincere thanks to the city leaders for their great concern and support for Japanese companies, including Mitsubishi Corporation Viet Nam. Mr. Tetsu Funayama also expressed his willingness to further research priority projects that Da Nang is calling for investment in to be able to participate effectively, contributing to Da Nang's rapid and sustainable development.

Also during his working visit to Da Nang, in the afternoon of 16th February 2017, President and General Manager of Mitsubishi Corporation Viet Nam and his companions had a meeting with the Da Nang Department of Foreign Affairs. At the meeting, Mr. Lam Quang Minh, Director of the Department, introduced the delegation situation of foreign direct investment (FDI) into Da Nang from Japan, the development and investment attraction orientation of the city in the coming time, information on a number of important events of the APEC Economic Leaders' Week 2017 in Da Nang and major infrastructure projects that the city had been calling for investment, including the Lien Chieu Port Project, High-tech parks, focused information technology park, international hospital, and FPT urban area.
Operating in Viet Nam since 1916, the Mitsubishi Corporation has not only focused on investing in the economy, but also the sustainable development of society and environment in the project area. Regarding future development orientation, Mr. Tetsu Funayama stated that the corporation would focus in four areas including infrastructure, serving the growing demand of the middle class (urban development, consumer demand), healthcare and information technology applications for each industry. Up to now, Mitsubishi Viet Nam has had projects in Bac Ninh, Hai Phong, Ninh Binh, Ha Tinh, Binh Thuan, Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Dong Nai and Kien Giang.
