Closing Ceremony of the Support Children with Disabilities at Tuong Lai School Project
In the afternoon of 8th April 2017, Tuong Lai Special School, Da Nang City, in collaboration with Samaritan's Purse International Relief Vietnam (SPIR), from the U.S.A., to organise the Closing Ceremony of the "Provide day-boarding and vocational training equipment for Tuong Lai Special School (1st Branch)" Project (2016 - 2017) sponsored by SPIR.
Attending the Closing Ceremony were leaders from the Department of Foreign Affairs (DOFA), Department of Education and Training (DOET) and teachers from Tuong Lai Special School. Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Le Thi Bich Thuan, Deputy Director of DOET, expressed her appreciation for the humanitarian significance and practical effectiveness of the project. She expressed her desire to continue to receive the attention and support of SPIR for children in general and children with disabilities in particular in Da Nang City.
The project includes the following activities: providing day-boarding and vocational training facilities; training teachers to gain skills for working with children with disabilities, skills to help children prevent sexual abuse; training on life skills and career guidance for deaf students. Since 2015, DOFA has mobilised SPIR to sponsor 02 projects for Tuong Lai Special School. The first project "Provide vocational training facilities for Tuong Lai Special School (2nd Branch)" was implemented in 2015.
