BORDA Supports Waste Water Treatment Technology for Households in Da Nang
In March 2014, the Da Nang People's Committee approved the “Technical Assistance for Decentralised Wastewater Treatment Systems (DEWATS)" project funded by the Bremen Overseas Research and Development Association - BORDA) of Germany and the Viet Nam Institute for Water Resources Research. The project has been piloted at Ms. Le Thi Tich’s household in Hoa Tien Commune, Hoa Vang District, Da Nang City.
The project with a total budget of 110,060,000 VND and implementation in 2017, aims to support the construction of a small and medium scale (300 pigs) waste water treatment plant with appropriate technology. It has a treatment capacity of about 6m3/day and is highly sustainable contributing to environmental protection within pig farms as well as neighbouring areas in line with the national strategy on Rural Environmental Hygiene. It is expected that, after successful piloting at Ms. Le Thi Tich's household, the project model will be expanded in the city.
BORDA is a German non-governmental organisation working in the field of improving water supply in rural areas through the introduction of water treatment technology and the supply of equipment.
