Da Nang City will Welcome more Study Tours for Japanese Students
In the afternoon of 14th November 2017, there was a meeting between Mr. Nguyen Cong Tien, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Foreign Affairs and Dr. Takane Kawashima, representative of Meiji University (Japan) with the purpose of promoting educational cooperation between Da Nang City and Meiji University.
In the meeting, Dr. Kawashima introduced that Meiji University was one of the six major universities in Tokyo and one of the biggest private universities in Japan. In addition, he said that Meiji University had a lot of study tours and student exchange programs in Southeast Asian countries and would like to expand the number of these activities. He also proposed that Meiji University was planning a study tour to Da Nang City in March 2018. He thought that the city was one of the best places for his students to learn tourism or economics, as the city was the venue of the APEC Economic Leaders' Week 2017 and the city tourism had been expanding rapidly.
Mr. Nguyen Cong Tien highly appreciated the proposal to organize the study tour in Da Nang City. The Department of Foreign Affairs would support this study tour to connect the students of the two countries.
After the meeting with the Department of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Kawashima also had a meeting with the University of Da Nang to promote new cooperation between the two universities.
Meiji University is comprised of ten academic schools and 16 graduate schools. Meiji University is also a part of Japan's Global Universities program, established by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), which aims to enhance the reputation of Japan's leading public and private universities. Meiji University is one of Japan's 37 universities involved in the project.
